The Villa reserves won 3-0 against Reading last night.

The goals came from Gardner, Herd and O’Halloran.

Martin Laursen continued his recovery with a full 90 minutes.

According to Vital Villa member Miss Aston:

Moore was really bad last night. I was there and he didn’t look fit at all. He was half a yard behind everyone else, and seemed to need far too much time on the ball. I’m beginning to see why he hasn’t been picked yet.

There were a couple of positives, however.

One was Angel, seemed back to his old self, just a reluctance to shoot.

Another was Craig Gardner, pure quality and strength, he should be given a chance to replace McCann.

Finally, Laursen got through a full 90mins and looked fit as a fiddle. He even made a barnstorming run from is own penalty box late in the second half and nearly scored!.

VILLA: Taylor, O’Halloran, Samuel (booked 30), Laursen, Lund, Hogg, Herd, Gardner, Angel, Moore, Stieber. Subs: Bevan, Earls (for Angel 88), Clark (for Moore 88), Bannan (for Stieber 87).
