Aston Villa were looking to close the 2018/19 Championship season out in style as we welcomed Norwich City to Villa Park earlier today.

With a spot in the Play-Offs already guaranteed, this wasn’t a dead rubber simply owing to the fact that Norwich needed to win to ensure the title goes to Carrow Road, so plenty was riding on the match. For ourselves, it was the ongoing unbeaten run and confidence for the season extension that mattered.

With five changes to the starting lineup, the game was open and entertaining and although Norwich lifted the title with three points from a 2-1 victory, confidence won’t be shot given the overall performance we put in. Jonathan Kodjia got our goal.

All eyes to the Play-Offs now with key players nicely rested and we know it’s local rivals West Bromwich Albion in the Semi-Final affair, and simply put, we know what we need to do, let’s see if we can do it in some style!

Congrats to Norwich.
