Villa Rookie Looking For Action

Rookie Villa striker Sam Williams wants to follow Luke Moore and Gabriel Agbonlahor’s examples and force his way into the first team.

Williams told the official site:

‘I had a great spell for the reserves around the turn of the year and that got me the loan move to Wrexham. Things went well there. They played me in the hole and I created more goals than I scored, but the experience was brilliant. I’ve seen players like Gabby and Gary Cahill get a chance. Craig Gardner’s been in and around the first-team squad since Christmas as well.’

‘Hopefully I can be the next one to catch the manager’s eye. I know I’ll have to work harder than ever when I come back for pre-season training, but I’m ready for that. The manager has shown he will put young players in and it’s up to me to keep getting goals for the reserves and hopefully get a chance.’
