Villa Secure Frenchman & He Heads Home For The Rest Of The Season – FFP Trick Surely

|

Following the speculation about Frenchman Frederic Guilbert earlier on today, Aston Villa have now confirmed his arrival on a permanent deal from Caen.

Having come through the youth Academy at the French Ligue 1 club, he now heads back to them on a loan spell until the end of the 2018/19 campaign.

The fee for the 24-year-old is officially undisclosed but I assume there is a financial benefit to us not leaving them without their first choice right back for the remainder of the 2018/19 campaign and I would also assume with Financial Fair Play worries in the air B6 (at least amongst the fans) the terms of this deal see us push that transfer fee into the next set of accounts so it won’t trouble us for the March assessment with the three years being up.

I know nowt about the player other than what we’ve all read but he is a French Under 21 international and who knows, maybe we’ll have a little bit more luck with him than we did Jordan Amavi.

It might not have been a spectacular day in terms of names and numbers but it’s certainly been a busy one. You don’t have to look far to realise plenty of fans are unhappy, but I can’t help notice a significant trend towards the future and next summer, especially with our youth moves.

Some might not appreciate the plan but by God we finally seem to have one.
