With Aston Villa welcoming Jack Grealish back to some kind of contention for the upcoming Derby County clash this weekend, head coach Dean Smith has also confirmed that another player could be back out on the Bodymoor Heath training pitches next week – on loan Manchester United youngster Axel Tuanzebe.

Speaking to the E&S this week, Smith explained that he believed that Tuanzebe would be back at Villa next week having returned to his parent club for treatment and rehabilitation on his foot injury.

“I would expect him to be back with us the first week in March, he is with Manchester United at the moment and we are in constant contact. We are hoping he will be ready for just after the international break.”

Having last featured for Villa in mid-December in the 2-2 draw with Stoke City, the 21-year-old has been an obvious loss for us and having impressed many after being moved into his move natural centre-half slot, his injury has understandably coincided with our dip in form – alongside JG being missing.

The expectation is he’ll be back with us next week and we’ll use the international break to really get some fitness in him, with a possible return pencilled in at the end of the month when we face Blackburn Rovers at Villa Park.
