So, along with the talk of arrivals, Lambert Looking For 5 Players With £20m Funds? it looks (obviously) like Villa will shake things up a little bit and get rid of some players.

The good thing about this managerial appointment is he has a full summer to assess and look at what he wants to do. Should help end the tailspin we were put in to following the rush departure of MON.

We`ve been discussing who you`d let go for a while in the forum along with a forum poll (feel free to vote !)

Which of these players would you KEEP?

Charles N’Zogbia 165 Votes – [23.44%]
Barry Bannan 146 Votes – [20.74%]
Fabian Delph 120 Votes – [17.05%]
Richard Dunne 83 Votes – [11.79%]
Nathan Delfouneso 46 Votes – [6.53%]
Stephen Warnock 43 Votes – [6.11%]
James Collins 34 Votes – [4.83%]
Happy to see most go 29 Votes – [4.12%]
None, sell them all 21 Votes – [2.98%]
Alan Hutton 17 Votes – [2.41%]

John Wragg has a report at www.express.co.uk that says Alan Hutton, Stephen Warnock, James Collins, Fabian Delph and Stephen Ireland could all be players under pressure to exit.

Happy with those? I`d keep Ireland I must admit, the others can go!!

Remember, this is press talk, not names put out there by Paul Lambert.

John Wragg also says others that Lambert will have to assess are Charles N`Zogbia and young players Barry Bannan and Marc Albrighton.

Interestingly, exiled (well, he was loaned anyway) Jean Makoun II could well be given a second chance. He has returned from his loan at Olympiakos where he apparently did well.

Wragg adds Lambert also wants full-backs, central defenders and central midfield players. He will assess the squad when they report back for training on July 5.

Good, just what we need, a proper shake up and bring in players who realise the honour it is to be at a club like Villa.

Lambert said: ‘Once I get my feet under the table I can start to look at what’s going on and dig a bit deeper. I am really looking forward to it. There is a good feeling around the place and it’s up to me to try and keep that. As long as we give it a go that’s all we can ask. I will do everything I can to make this club successful.’
