SBS The World Game in Australia are reporting that Mile Jedinak has agreed a “multi-year” deal with a club on the continent.

The report claims that his new team doesn’t play in Spain, France, Italy or Germany, which suggests either Turkey, Greece or Russia as his probable destination.

SBS say that Jedinak is on $50,000 (£28,000) a week, and with a year still remaining on his three-year contract, the player has now opted to move abroad for the final chapter of his long career.

The Australian international turns 34 at the beginning of next month, but he showed no signs of slowing down last campaign. Our no.15 played a massive role in helping us to the play-off final, but his salary means we have been keen to get him off the wage bill to improve our financial situation.

Will you be sad to see the midfielder leave if he does depart, or do you think it needs to happen because of his wages? Let me know in the poll:
