Villa Striker D-Day Looms

Chris Sutton will make a decision on his future within the next 10 days and that could mean the Villa striker might hang up his boots for good.

Sutton has been out of action since the game against Manchester United last December (I think we won something like 10-0) due to an injury he picked up to his eye.

The 33-year-old former Blackburn Rovers and Celtic striker has seen no real improvements despite his time out of the game.

Martin O’Neill said: ‘Chris has got another specialist to see. He has already seen one – and he has another one to see. He will make his mind up about things after he has seen the second specialist. He will make his mind up about his whole future and career. That will be within the next 10 days.’

Adding, ‘Chris has got a genuine concern. His concern always is no-one can give him any guarantees about what might be the consequences if he got cracked on the head again. Whatever eyesight Chris has now, he would want to obviously keep.’

What a shame, imagine him and John Carew up front together? Jeez, the defenders wouldn’t know where to put themselves.

Good luck Chris.
