For the 2011-2012 Premiership campaign Villa have selected a 23 man squad – two more in January then you wonder?
The criteria is at least 8 must be homegrown, but Villa exceed that with 17 falling into that category and only Alan Hutton, Barry Bannan, Habib Beye, Carlos Cuellar, Stiliyan Petrov and Brad Guzan are not being classed as homegrown.
Equally our youngsters like U21 newbie Gary Gardner, Nathan Delfouneso and others qualify for the squad but don’t have to be named due to their age.
