Villa Take Another Draw As Points Are Dropped – Match Stats

After an incredibly busy January transfer deadline day for Aston Villa where we saw a couple of arrivals and plenty of exits, attentions turned today to our Championship clash with Reading.

Head coach Dean Smith took the lads to the Madejski Stadium for the game and although the hosts had the greater possession on the day, we did far more with the ball racking up 13 efforts on goal. The sad thing was only three were on target and Tammy Abraham probably wasted the best chance to open the scoring on the day during the second period, but it just wasn’t to be.

Tommy Elphick also struck the woodwork but for some slight balance, Reading will feel aggrieved that they weren’t awarded a penalty when Alan Hutton made contact in the box.

You know it’s pretty much been a poor one when there are more yellow cards than chances on target in the 90 minutes!

Another point and another draw but one game closer to getting Jack Grealish back as we all know how much we’ve missed him.
