Aston Villa’s under 23 squad took an emphatic victory over Tamworth in yesterday evening’s fixture.

With thought ahead of the game meaning fans were unsure if we’d see any seniors in the group given the postponement of our final fixture out in Germany, the match was purely an affair for the youngsters with no senior involvement in the end.

We secured a four nil victory with goals coming from Callum O’Hare, Keinan Davis, Harvey Knibbs and an own goal after Jack Clarke’s shot was deflected in.

Tamworth:

Stevens, Burns, Morley, Deeney (Walters 86), Jones (c) (Curley 61), Lane, Upton (Sinclair 73), Verma (Davies 67), Styche (Reid 61), Knights (Opoku 79), Taylor (Rathbone 67).

Subs:

Beardsmore.

Aston Villa:

Sarkic, Clark, Borg, Suliman (Pastorek 69), Toner, Clarke, O`Hare (Knibbs 76), Doyle-Hayes (Prosser 76), Hepburn-Murphy (Blackett-Taylor 56), Davies (Mooney 73), Cox (Bedeau 56).

Subs:

Idem.

Goals – O’Hare (18), Davis (72), Knibbs (84), Sinclair (og 88).

Attendance: 1512.
Referee: Mr. B. Cooke.

Rushian Hepburn-Murphy continued his return from a hamstring injury in the game, following on from his goal against Stoke in midweek, but he was forced off early into the second half with what appeared to be an injury.

He did tweet after the game.

So hopefully maybe it was more precautionary.
