Jake Doyle-Hayes was one of the highly rated Academy graduates who headed out of Aston Villa over the summer on a loan spell, and his destination was Cheltenham Town for the 2019/20 campaign.

The 20-year-old Republic of Ireland youth international had a mixed spell with Cambridge United last season, but he’s certainly hit the ground running at Whaddon Road, making eight appearances across all competitions so far, and he took their Player of the Month vote for August following his performances.

On Tuesday evening, as they welcomed Bradford City to home soil, Doyle-Hayes scored his first professional career goal to help them to a 3-2 victory and it was the perfect way to celebrate the September international break as he received his first call up to his country’s Under 21 squad.

Taking to social media to react to his performance, it’s fair to say he’s making a strong impression on their fans, and his goal was the cherry on top.
