Martin O’Neill says the clash against Watford is simply about ‘winning at all costs’ after 12 games without a win.
My mate Paul is bringing his young son George Barnes who, when asked who he wanted to see Villa play told his dad, ‘I just want to see Villa win’. That’ll do for me!
O’Neill said: ‘It is a big game, it is a game in which we must do everything that we possibly can to get three points from the game. We have to. It is a big game, at home, that now becomes very, very important for us. Even compared to my time at Leicester, this is the longest period I have gone without winning a game and we need to bring this run to an end.’
I love this quote. When at Leicester City he went on a run of 10 games without a win, he said when asked how they got over it:
‘We won some games. Simple as that.’
Classic O’Neill!
Mark Lawrenson says on the BBC site: ‘A home game against Watford is exactly what you want when you have been struggling and this has come at the right time for Villa. The problem for Watford is attracting players of the right sort of quality they need to have any hopes of staying up.’ and predicts 2-0 to the Villa.
Mystic Mug says 3-1 to Villa as Baros reminds fans what he is capable of and also predicts a surprise signing by early next week. He really has been polishing his ball.
I must admit, I’ve a real buzz about this game, can’t wait, for some reason I just think we’ve got a great battle on our hands and the Villa boys will do us proud.

and Sky Sorts says?….1-0 to Watford, *******s!!
Why are my nails up to the quip? A win and we will be fine anything less will be a disaster.
if we can’t beat watford at home then we deserve to be in a relegation battle
Jonah – true…SKY talking rubbish agaijn or should i say Mark Lawrenson as he is the epitome of Villa hate. 3 nil to Villa.
If we do sign Young (big IF), i wonder if 3 points for Watford is part of the deal?!…
I offer the same boring question I trot out week after week. Whose going to score our goals?
Glensider that will be mellberg, Cahill, Barry and maybe even Baros
SKY make me sick they never have anything good to say about Villa
Neither do many so called Villa fans from what I read on this site. 🙁
VOTN Its a reasonable question, who is going to stick the ball in the net? If not Baros then who? Although the signing of Ashley Young would be a ral boost to the club we still need someone to score. This is a Must Win game. I think Mystic Mug is a little optomistic, 1-0 to he Villa will do, can we expect more?
