Villa To Make Jermain Defoe Bid?

Not a great deal in the press today, they are probably recovering from too much turkey and drink. However the People claim that Portsmouth will have to sell England striker Jermain Defoe as their owner Sacha Gaydamak is still looking to balance the books.

The red top claims that Villa are willing to pay £10million for the former Spurs striker who cost Pompey £7.5million last January.

There are also whispers around that the Emile Heskey signing is a done deal and yet other reports say that Liverpool are set to bid.

Time will tell, not long now for the transfer window to open.

Must admit I’d LOVE to see Defoe sign, I banged on about it last year as I thought it was a major mistake not taking quality like that when available. Hey, maybe we could take Peter Crouch off their hands as well to give us some real options up front, afterall he has more goals than Defoe so far this year!
