Villa To Spark Bidding War For League 1 Talent – Report

|

It’s been claimed this week that Aston Villa have already made a move for one of our summer transfer targets, despite our season not actually being at an end and not knowing (but hoping) which division we will be playing in next year – and that target is Luton Town full back James Justin.

Football Insider claimed on Wednesday that we have begun what is expected to be a bidding war for the 19-year-old left back and apparently his stock has been on the rise this year, as he’s made 35 appearances in League One for Luton, with eight further showings from the substitutes bench chipping in with three goals as they secured promotion into the Championship this year as third tier Champions.

The report claims that a source at the club has told them that we have opened bidding at £7.5million but I find that hard to believe at that price given his relative experience and talk of a bidding war – let alone the fact he only has 12 months left on his deal, but he does sound like a Dean Smith target to me with plenty of development potential given his age.

They also claim we were in for him back in the January transfer window and I have vague memories of some speculation, but they refused to deal given their league campaign.

One to watch maybe, but not at that price.
