With the uncertainty over Steve Bruce’s future, it’s wise to take any transfer rumours with a large pinch of salt until the managerial situation is sorted out. But the Daily Mail are reporting that we are looking at Rangers attacking midfielder Josh Windass.

We are not the only team said to be in the hunt, however, with West Brom, Burnley and West Ham also believed to be keen on the 24-year-old.

Windass is reportedly available for £3m with the central midfielder not in Steven Gerrard’s first-team plans. The player did start both legs of the Europa League first qualifying round against FC Shkupi earlier this month, but he is expected to be on the bench for Thursday’s game against NK Osijek.

He mostly played as a number 10 last season, scoring 18 goals and providing eight assists in 41 appearances for Rangers. He can also play on the wing, or as a second striker, and would be a logical replacement for Jack Grealish if the midfielder did leave for Tottenham.

Should we sign Windass? let me know in the poll:
