Last night Aston Villa’s youngsters took to the Villa Park pitch to face off against Swansea City in the third round of this year’s FA Youth Cup.
Having taken a 4-2 victory on the night with a very comfortable showing, we are through to the last 32 of the competition once again and are now set for a home clash with either Cambridge United or Reading and the fourth round affair will be played by Saturday, January 19.
If you didn’t watch it last night, or if you’re anything like me and you missed every single goal in the game, the above replay is probably useful!
Villa:
Sinisalo, Burton, McConnachie, Walker, Ige, Revan, Wright, Vassilev, Archer (Pressley 82), Ramsey, Odutayo (Farr, 78).
Unused subs:
Onodi, Patterson, Tait.
Goals – Wright (2), Erickson (og 42), Ramsey (45, 56).
Helping himself to a brace on the night was Jacob Ramsey and his one goal in particular (the second on the night) was an absolute belter.
6⃣ precise passes
A cheeky back heel 🙊

He, and the team, took the plaudits for that one on social media.
One of best goals I’ve seen that. Passing through thirds out of a tricky, pressed situation. Electric

Bloody Brilliant, great to see both the 1st Team and the Youngsters playing the same style. This will make it easier for Smith to bring them into the squad.
