The battle for fourth update… Last one: Villa’s Battle For 4th – Update 7

The verdict: A win, but it’s not enough!

Good victory away at Pompey yesterday, and quite an entertaining game to watch too I thought… Carew scored a well taken goal but then missed a penalty, and Delfouneso opened his premier league account.

But where does that leave us after Tottenham’ s excellent result against Chelsea?

The verdict is – needing some results to go our way! It’s still possible if we win all our remaining games, but it’s unlikely really now. Anyway, here’s how I see things:

4th – Tottenham – 69 points
5th – Man City – 68 points
6th – Villa – 66 points
7th – Liverpool – 64 points
8th – Everton – 61 points

We will hopefully beat Blues at home too, which would boost us up to the 68 point mark – enough to grab 4th most seasons! With our cup runs too, and finishing above Liverpool, I’d see that as a successful season, despite what some fans may say. Also, when you factor in the improvement in the likes of spurs and city, it’s not too shabby at all.
