Villa’s Winning Streak Peters Out With Ipswich Draw

Aston Villa faced the lovely trip to Portman Road to face an Ipswich Town side minus Mick McCarthy earlier today as we continued our 2018/19 Championship campaign and went in search of a fourth win on the spin.

It was an eventful opening 45 minutes as we took the lead through Jonathan Kodjia in the 21st minute and hit the woodwork but they levelled matters up with 14 minutes remaining and despite going down to ten men, we failed to capitalise on that and restore our lead so we only take a point in a 1-1 draw.

The were positives to take though, Kodjia finding the net for the first time in almost eleven months was a welcome boost as he continues to search for his full form after injury, and John McGinn was again impressive laying on the assist but we should’ve really taken victory with the chances we had, but only getting three on target was the problem.

With Orjan Nyland making an error for their goal, a clean sheet would be a nice boost for him moving forward as well.

We remain unbeaten though and you get days like this.
