Avfc94 is next for the Vital Villa interview.

Or as he put it… Avfc94 is the next A list celebrity being interviewed by Vital Villa.

1) When did you become a Villa fan and why?

I became a mighty Villan on the 24th December 1994. I was born a Villan and would never regret it. The first game I went to see, that I can remember, was Villa vs Man United with the parents. I think the game finished 3-2 to United in the end but the goals were late in the game and it was Villa who scored twice then conceding 3. I think it was back in the Vassell and Angel days and Angel scored (I think!). I also remember when Rooney first signed for United and we want to watch a game with him in it and he took a shot where me and my mum ducked and it hit either my uncle or a stranger sat next to him in the face. Ahhh, that was a right ol’ laugh.

2) Paul Lambert? Your opinion please?

I think we have a gem of a manager in charge of our fine club. He has always (well except his first job as a manager) had a stroke of magic and he improves everywhere he goes which sounds very good for us and I think we could actually win a cup or two with him. I am a bit worried that he isn’t afraid of jumping the ship if a better job comes up but I’m sure he will do very well at villa, especially with Ireland and Bent in the squad and not to mention we could see N’Zogbia on fire again, if not better which could make us very very very deadly indeed.

3) Best and worst moments of last season?

The best has to be the moment it ended and shell head got the boot, I think many would agree with the exception of one or two. The worst has to be our own Stalian, Stilian Petrov. No one was expecting it and he really did have an affect on the team. Not only the team but the fans themselves too. He is a great guy, he loves the fans, he loves the team, he is just someone we all can look at and feel proud of knowing he is part of the villa family.

4) Your opinion of Randy Lerner and the board, can a decent season next season make up for last season?

I think we have a good owner, better than many and not many realise what he has done for the club and how much he loves it. Yes he is American and probably prefers his cleveland browns but he hasn’t put near enough money in for them as us. He has learnt from his mistakes like instead of giving Lambert all the money he wanted like MON, he has setup a good budget plus he has the sell to buy scheme going on meaning if he wants a bigger budget then ship out some to increase it which is fair. As for next season, look out Europe, the Villa are back!

5) Which player/s should Villa sign this summer?

Firstly, we have a budget of £25 million so in my opinion I will ship off Hutton, Collins, Dunne, Delph, Bannan and (forgive me readers, I find this hard too) Agbonlahor. So that will give us about… £20 mill? Okay, just imagine we had £45 million to spend now with sales (we all value certain players differently so to me we got £20 mill out of those). Firstly, I would get out king Carlos back despite him having a little… moment. So he is free right? So give him a contract and play him at centre back with Clarke but still would need two more centre halves, Rami for Valencia (I think) and one more. I am happy with Herd, Stephens, Warnock but need one more on the right, I don’t know who yet. We have Makoun, Gardner and Ireland to cover the middle so one more centre half for me. We have two good right wingers already so I would put money in for a left winger, maybe two. And lastly, I would like Falcao… damn it. So another striker please.

6) Which player/s should Villa get rid of this summer?

Ah, I never read this before reading number 5! Like I said, the players I mentioned before. Hutton because, well, he’s just useless. Collins as I think he is past it now, he’s a trouble maker and he isn’t what he used to be under MON. Dunne, he is just in general past it. He is good but he is equally clumsy and costs us goals. Delph, he was just a prospect that hasn’t turned out. He is a bit aggressive, unneeded, he looks a bit sloppy, just my opinion and he isn’t very effective. Bannan, he can be good but he thinks he is better than he is and isn’t good enough for us to progress but maybe a smaller team like stoke? And lastly, Agbonlahor. He is just pace but he isn’t that good of a striker. We all love him but he just isn’t good enough for us.

7) Favourite current player?

For me, Marc Albrighton as when I first watched him, I thought he was a real gem. He did well under Houllier and MON when he got his chance and has been unlucky and now we have an attacking manager, I think N’Zogbia will be like climbing Mount Everest to get his place as we all know that N’Zogbia is a good player under the right tactics, good is an understatement actually and I think he will prove to us why we paid for him and that he is worth more than we paid. But Marc is a deadly player with his crosses and now we have an attacing manger back, he will show why he is deadly yet again!

8) Favourite all time player/s?

Seeing as I am only 17 and I didn’t get to see the glory days like you guys did, I will have to say Juan Pablo Angel, Olof Mellberg or Martin Laursen. Angel was a goal machine, Mellberg was a god and Laursen was his apprentice. I have seen talent in my years but none like most of you old coots. 😉

9) What do you expect us to do/finish this season assuming a decent transfer window with £25m or so spent?

Premier: I would say an ambitious 7th as Villa are not as weak as many say and we do put up a good fight when we have a good manager. Under MON, I remember reading an article saying that Villa were ranked 7th best in the world (for a certain week) and the only team above us from the Prem was United and I’m pretty sure that was the season we were 3rd for most of it, finished 6th, and we were challenging for the title not just champions league.

FA Cup: Quarters.
Carling: Quarters.

10) You can ask yourself any question you want to about Villa and what is your answer?

Q) what should Villa do to improve in the next season?

A) we should play all of the match and not half of it, we should ALWAYS get the best out of EVERY player, we should rotate the squad, we as fans should back the players even in times of doubt and the players should be happy they are at a club as big as Villa in the first place.

11) Just to change the theme slightly, a snap shot of you outside of football, answer or ignore at your leisure:
(based on our WHO ARE YOU thread!!!)

a) Which celebrity/s would you most like to meet and why? I would like to meet Karl Pilkington, he is just mind blowing.

b) Age 17…

c) Location: Worcester, Worcestershire, UK, Earth, Milky way.

d) Favourite alcoholic drink: I do not like alcohol so much but my family know I love whisky and WKD blue. But I remember that when me and friends drinks ciders etc, they seem to taste a whole lot better. xD

e) Favourite non-alcoholic drink: classic curiosity cola

f) Favourite Film/s: I do not have a favourite film but I like watching them. I did like I am legend and the avengers though. I also love the Iron and series.

g) Favourite TV Show/s: Walking Dead, me and my bestie Lou are fanatics of the program! If you check out my twitter, @Seanphillips1 😉 you will see the amount of things me and her post to each other.

h) Music?: I like a lot of undiscovered music where they are huge on YouTube. My favourite is Noisestorm (undiscovered talent) and the song is Renegade. I also love Stuck in Your Radio (yet again, undiscovered. The singer is also one of the gaming commentators I admire and will soon enough be setting up my own channel hoping to be big like him and also my bestie loves the band too!) and I like some discovered such as Ed Sheeran, Jessie J, Dizzie Rascal, Eminem etc.

i) Best ever moment in your life: realising I was a God. Haha, ermmm… leaving school and going to college. I just hated school, I was popular but I hated it. College, however, is really good.

j) Ambitions: finish college with D*D*D* and attend either a uni in London or Nottingham, to become an Architect and also for my youth and until I decide I hate video games, becoming a big shot YouTube commentator and eventually branching out to vlogging as well. Oh, and to put a bear in elephant suit.

k) Wise words: if life gives you lemons, turn it into orange juice and make people wonder how the eff you did it.

  • Different generation, I don’t even know what vlogging is and you’ll have to explain 11) d) to Mike as well. Don’t like alcohol?! That said, as a kid when my dad gave me a sip of beer I must admit I felt worried that I’d never like that when I grew up…

  • Today’s youth, not liking alcohol eh! I just don’t understand the language and the way they speak lol

Good set of legends for one so young if I may say aswell.

  • LOL fear, your day will one day come mate 😉 our generation is technology addicts Mike, but on social occasions it is much different I have to say.

  • Olof Mellberg will be this young mans hero when he is in his 50’s as we olders look back at the Stars of yesteryear 94’s will become those hero’s. Good Interview.

  • I have a picture of the youth generation in years to come standing at the bar with a health drink texting each other or being on ipads right next to each other. We’ll slowly evolve so we don’t have to talk at all! Then again, teenagers don’t talk they g
