1) When did you become a Villa fan and why?

I went to my first match at the start of the 2000/01 season, aged 6, with my Greek father who knew nothing about the Villa but chose to take me to see them as he used to work in and around Aston. The match itself, I have no recollection of, apart from it was against Chelsea and ended in a 1-1 draw with the unfortunate Luc Nilis scoring his only goal for Villa (a fact I do not remember at the time but learned years later). All I remember from the day, is sitting behind two Chinese tourists and sticking our fingers up at them and then acting normal every time they turned around – it was a right laugh.! I`d say I didn`t become a real fan until a couple of years later and I have never looked back. I live and breathe Aston Villa.

2) Paul Lambert? Your opinion please?

I have to say I got very excited at the prospect of OGS becoming manager, it seemed a great move by the board and even though it would have been a massive risk, I was filled with optimism. In saying that, I have realised that Paul Lambert was definitely the right choice and I believe that he can achieve bi! g things for us. He looks as though he can really repair the damage of the last few seasons and can unite the dressing room once more. If he signs some decent, preferably young, players during the summer I think we are in for a more entertaining brand of football. He is the total opposite of McLeish and that in itself is enough for me.

3) Best and worst moments of last season?

Best moment has to be beating Chelsea 3-1 at Stamford Bridge on New Year’s Eve; it looked as though we had finally turned a corner – New Year, New Start I thought. Sadly, as we all well know, this was not the case at all.

Worst in footballing terms was t! he 2-1 defeat to Bolton at Villa Park. I remember that was the point where, to me, relegation became a real possibility, that we were going to go down and I was depressed for days after, as that was something that I have never experienced with the club.

Of course, the news of Stiliyan Petrov`s illness was a massive shock and really got to me as you don`t expect something like that to happen to an athlete, not to mention the captain of the club you support so dearly. I can only wish Stan a speedy recovery and hope to see him back in a Villa shirt as soon as possible.

4) Your opinion of Randy Lerner and the board, can a decent season next season make up for last season?

I used to think Lerner was a god, that everything he did was brilliant and that with him (and O`Neill) we could achieve anything. Of course that couldn’t have been further from the truth, the love affair with O`Neill ending so abruptly and then two disastrous managerial appointments (I don`t know what the board were taking when they hired McLeish) and seasons. Never did I think a board could be so disjointed from their fans. However, they have gone some way in mending the bond with the appointment of Lambert, which seems to have excited Villa fans and brought them back together again. Only time will tell, this season is make or break for the board in my eyes.

5) Which player/s should Villa sign this summer?

We need defenders, a new RB for starters (liking the rumours of Kyle Naughton but could we do better still?) but could always develop Lichaj further by making him our first choice. Also one, maybe two, new CB`s as Dunne and Collins have lost everything that made them such a great partnership in 09/10. Although, we do have Clark who looks as though he could be the driving force of the defence, a future captain. A new LB? I`ll leave that up to Mr Lambert.

Another winger is greatly needed to give DB9 the support he so clearly craves and to knock some sense into N’Zogbia by showing him that he is in fact not bigger than this club. Adam Johnson is a good shout on loan but I doubt we could afford his wages. Holliet is also a name that excites me, maybe look abroad for some gems.

I think that Ireland is a great player but is one of the biggest yo-yo players I`ve ever seen. There`s no doubting his ability but with his extremely ! high wages it may make sense to get rid and bring in a new playmaker/second striker who can really link up play and become a marquee signing (of course on a decent transfer fee and wages). A holding midfielder too, which is a position we desperately need filling but that looks to be a main priority of Mr Lambert with the imminent arrival of one Karim El Ahmadi – who?

And finally, possibly a new strike partner for Bent. Jordan Rhodes excites me a lot as he fits the young and talented agenda that a lot of us want at Villa. I do have a few doubts over whether he`d be ready for the PL yet and the fee that Huddersfield wants is a stumbling block.

6) Which player/s should Villa get rid of this summer?

As I mentioned before I wouldn`t be at all upset to see any of the back four leave (even all of them), Hutton and Collins for definite. Delfouneso is another player who I believe should move on; he clearly isn`t good enough and should find another club just as much for his benefit as ours. I also think Gabby falls into this category, all he is is pace and that just isn’t enough for a PL striker. Yes he`s ‘one of us` but that shouldn`t be the only reason we keep him and I believe that there are much better players out there.

I`d give Bannan and Albrighton one more season to prove their worth because I! feel that they could both be great players. Delph is a tough one for me, I`d like to say give him another season just to see if he can actually bring anything to our cause, however I don`t know if I can see it happening.

7) Favourite current player?

Probably Darren Bent, I`ve always rated him highly as a player and when he came to Villa I was absolutely chuffed, even if he is yet to reach the complete heights we all expected (not really his fault mind). Hopefully, Lambert can get the best out of him and we can see 20+ goals this season and for the foreseeable future.

Also Shay Given, he kept us up last season no doubt, another player that I have always rated, he is a fantastic goalie. Although his performances at the Euros have filled me with a bit of worry and doubt, I`m sure he`ll prove me wrong.

8) Favourite all time player/s?

Well I wasn`t around for the glory days so I`m going to go with:

Mellberg, Laursen, Young, Milner, Bent, Barry, Carew

(I used to quite like Baros, what a fool I was!)

9) What do you expect us to do/finish this season assuming a decent transfer window with £25m or so spent?
Premier: Top half

FA Cup: Fifth/Sixth Round

Carling (why the hell would they call it the Capital One Cup??): Quarters

10) You can ask yourself any question you want to about Villa and what is your answer?

Not really a question but…

I`d love to see Villa win a trophy, other than the bloody Peace Cup, in the next few years.

11) Just to change the theme slightly, a snap shot of you outside of football, answer or ignore at your leisure:

(based on our WHO ARE YOU thread!!!)

a) Which celebrity/s would you most like to meet and why? Not really into the whole celebrity thing, really doesn`t bother me that much. If I had to answer I`d say any of the top British comedians around right now, namely John Bishop although the whole scouse thing would annoy me.

Oh and Karl Pilkington…surely no one is actually like that in real life.

b) Age 18

c) Location: Birmingham

d) Favourite alcoholic drink: Fosters

e) Favourite non-alcoholic drink: Water

f) Favourite Film/s: too many to name!

g) Favourite TV Show/s: Now you’re asking…Family Guy, American Dad, South Park, Two and a half men, How I Met Your Mot! her, Big Bang Theory, Sky Sports News is rarely off my TV screen. I watch far too much telly.

h) Music?: Anything really, depends on the mood I`m in.

i) Best ever moment in your life: I hope it is still to come!

j) Ambitions: Is it bad that I don`t really have any? Just to be content with the life I`ve led.

k) Wise words: Same shit, different day!
