1) When did you become a Villa fan and why?
Probably when I was born, but definitely when my grandfather and father started taking me to Villa Park when I was 5 or 6 years of age.
2) Paul Lambert? Your opinion please?
Seems like a great choice – I love the fact he did his coaching badges in Germany, which must give him a fresh perspective on the game. I also like the fact that he learned his managerial trade in the lower divisions, and that he worked his way up.
3) Best and worst moments of last season?
Best moment was McLeish getting the boot. Worst was Tottenham away – shameful.
4) Your opinion of Randy Lerner and the board, can a decent season next season make up for last season?
Even though he cocked up the last two managerial appointments and didn’t control O’Neill’s overspending particularly well, I think he is a great chairman. We’re lucky to have him.
5) Which player/s should Villa sign this summer?
I’d never heard of Holman, El Ahmadi or Lowton – so I really don’t know enough to say who we should bring in. But I would like one real ‘character’ signing that all the fans could make their hero.
6) Which player/s should Villa get rid of this summer?
Given, Hutton, Dunne, Collins, Warnock – that would be a good start, and I think that for the sake of his own career, Gabby should leave as well.
7) Favourite current player?
Barry Bannan/Gary Gardner
8) Favourite all time player/s?
Charlie Aitken, Bruce Rioch, Brian Little, Andy Gray, Dennis Mortimer
9) What do you expect us to do/finish this season assuming a decent transfer window with £25m or so spent?
