1) When did you become a Villa fan and why?

My Dad was (and is) a passionate Villa Fan from ‘The Division 3 days` so I had no choice really, bit like original sin in the Catholic Church I guess! My Dad`s Dad (God rest his soul) was a West Ham fan but moved to Birmingham and his sons liked the colour scheme but made a slight change for the better! My first game was 30 years ago, Villa vs. Derby County and we won one nil with a Gary Shaw goal…I`ve not looked back since.

2) Paul Lambert? Your opinion please?

I think it`s a great appointment. When the fans were signing his name at the Noj (sic) game I thought we had no chance as he had done such a great job for them. I think with time and backing, we can get the good times back at B6.

3) Best and worst moments of last season?

Worst: For me the West Brom game at Villa park, I stopped going down so regularly after that (three more games attended) as all the fight was knocked out of me watching the Baggies lord it up at our own ground after another dire performance. Best: when my mate who works at Villa Park text me to say McLeish was getting the boot that day, it was like the clouds opening and the sun bursting through!

4) Your opinion of Randy Lerner and the board, can a decent season next season make up for last season?

It`s clear that MON ran more than just the first team when he was there and Randy and Paul Faulkner lurched from one bad decision to the next, directionless and clueless at times. They made a TERRIBLE mistake with McLeish but they have put it right so for me, all is forgiven.

5) Which player/s should Villa sign this summer?

Up until a week or so, I would have said Niko Kranjčar would have been a good shout as our midfield looked poor last season but he`s gone through the Iron Curtain now, so there`s a missed opportunity. I`d love to see another striker up front with Bent, a midfield leader, somebody who can cross the bloody ball into the box and take a corner and our defence needs livening up a bit. Is there anybody left?! As for names, I can think of a million players I`d like, but I guess we might be going for less well known players to make the funds last longer, which of course if wise……thinking about it, can we have that little Russian chap who`s scoring for fun in the Euros?!

6) Which player/s should Villa get rid of this summer?

I don`t think we are in much of position to lose anybody really, but if Collins, Dunne, Warnock, Delph, Bannan, and Hutton were replaced, I`d be ok with that.

7) Favourite current player?

Shay Given, he`s had a big part to play keeping us in the Premiership with some big saves!

8) Favourite all time player/s?

Peter Withe: Deadly in the air and has a magic shin.

Dennis Mortimer: I`ve been lucky enough to have dinner and watch the game with him a few times and he`s a top bloke, even if he is a Liverpool fan.

Dean Saunders: Loved watching him play.

Mehlberg and Larsen: Both of them, Villa legends.

9) What do you expect us to do/finish this season assuming a decent transfer window with £25m or so spent?

Premier : 8th
FA Cup: ¼ final
Carling: Winners

10) You can ask yourself any question you want to about Villa and what is your answer?

Q: Why did they (apparently) listen to the fans and cancel the McLaren interview and then sign HIM?!

A: Not the foggiest!

11) Just to change the theme slightly, a snap shot of you outside of football, answer or ignore at your leisure:
(based on our WHO ARE YOU thread!!!)

Part owner and Technical Director of a Derby based IT Support and Development Company, married to somebody who`s miles too good for me, with two fantastic children. I used to be a Club 18-30 Rep and haven`t really grown up; part of me is still a big kid.

a) Which celebrity/s would you most like to meet and why?
I am really unimpressed by ‘celebrities` and have had the misfortune to meet lots who were all, in the main idiots. I wouldn`t mind going for a pint with Bob Mortimer though….

b) Age 39

c) Location: South Derbyshire

d) Favourite alcoholic drink: Bulmer`s original

e) Favourite non-alcoholic drink: Tea

f) Favourite Film/s: Star Wars, Scarface, GoodFellas, Casino and Anchor-man.

g) Favourite TV Show/s: MOTD, Top Gear, Documentaries

h) Music?: My tastes cover a wide range from Motown to Rock, but I`m listening to Twin Atlantic at the moment!

i) Best ever moment in your life: 4 of them: Wedding day, birth of my daughter, my son and watching us beat Man U at Wembley to lift the League Cup.

j) Ambitions: To retire at 50 and go and live somewhere warm…..and have a boat.

k) Wise words: There are two types of people in the world: Those who p**s in the shower and liars.
