1) When did you become a Villa fan and why?
About 25 years ago. My best mate at school was a Villa fan and I didn’t really know anything about football, so I followed him. Never looked back.
2) Paul Lambert? Your opinion please?
I now live in Norwich, and have quite a few Norwich City supporting friends. They all rate him very highly. Its their board they don’t seem to like. Personally, a mouldy cabbage would be an improvement on Alex McLeish, so i’m very happy. However, it remains to be seen if he is ready for a club of Villas size and expectations. I hope he is.
3) Best and worst moments of last season?
Best – I went to my first ever home game against Stoke. I’d been to a few away games, but never went to Villa Park, living a fair way away and not having the money (no excuse I know – sorry fellas). My wife got me a hospitality experience for my 30th birthday. Although the game wasn’t great I got to meet some legends like Steve Staunton, Tony Morley and Charlie Aitken, had a really nice meal and a few drinks, and spent some money in the shop. It really was one of the best days of my life.
Worst moment was the surrender at Spurs. A terrible performance, made worse because I was there watching with my Spurs supporting brother.
4) Your opinion of Randy Lerner and the board, can a decent season next season make up for last season?
I haven’t doubted them…. much. Everyone makes mistakes and they are magnifed tremendously at a place like Villa. Houllier could have worked, but when that went wrong I think they panicked and rushed into the McLeish decision. Hopefully we are now on the right track but I firmly believe they are the right people to be in charge of our club. It could be much worse. Look at whats going on at the likes of Blackburn and Rangers. Have faith, they will lead us to the promised land.
5) Which player/s should Villa sign this summer?
I’d like to see a bit of an overhaul. We need a reliable back up keeper (maybe Stockdale from Fulham). Two new full backs is a must for me, hopefully our scouts have been working on this one and have their eyes on some continental players. I think we can afford to wait and see what Lambert does with Dunne & co. Midfield wise, we need a combative, energetic midfielder (possibly a player from Norwich coming in here (Howson). A couple of Wingers also, would love Hoilett from Blackburn and i think the new guy Holman could fit there. Striker wise, I think we are fine. So thats bankrupted the club. So much for wishful thinking….
6) Which player/s should Villa get rid of this summer?
Well Heskey has already gone. Otherwise i don’t think we have enough depth to be getting rid of players. If we need to sell to buy or reduce wages, then the only obvious candidates are Dunne and Hutton. I do believe that Lambert will kick some of our under performers into shape though, so maybe we should give the remaining players until January. Me thinks that Lambert will have other ideas though.
7) Favourite current player?
Still Agbonlahor. Great workrate, unquestionable love for the club and a rarity in this day and age – loyalty. People never mention (when they are slagging him off) that he does a lot of the dirty jobs for the team – chasing down, holding up the ball, running back. Its not his fault he has been played out of position for a long time. I’d like to see any other player do all he has had to do recently and still give their all. I know he hasn’t been at his best for a while, but he still puts a lot of the other players at the club to shame.
8) Favourite all time player/s?
Ian Taylor – a true Villan. Paul McGrath – God. Andy Gray – a real blood and guts player. And a non Villa player to finish – Dennis Bergkamp – outragously talented.
9) What do you expect us to do/finish this season assuming a decent transfer window with £25m or so spent?
Premier – Top Ten
FA Cup: – Quarters
Carling: – Quarters
10) You can ask yourself any question you want to about Villa and what is your answer?
Q- What would have happened if Doug Ellis had been a little richer and a little more generous. Would we have been the biggest team of the 90s instead of Man Utd?
A- Probably not. Don’t ask stupid questions.

a) Which celebrity/s would you most like to meet and why? Alec Stewart because he was such a great cricketer. Also captained my home county Surrey and I missed the chance to meet him about 10 years ago because I went home early on a night out just before he walked into the pub i’d just been in and started buying drinks.

c) Location: Norwich currently but i’d rather be on the coast somewhere. or at Villa Park watching us win the league (ha).
d) Favourite alcoholic drink: London Pride
e) Favourite non-alcoholic drink: Tea
f) Favourite Film/s: Star Wars, Big Trouble in Little China, Die Hard, Office Space, Clockwise
g) Favourite TV Show/s: Currently No County for Old Men on History. Ever, it has to be Knightmare.
h) Music?: Any of the early Foo Fighters, Manics, Stone Roses, Stereophonics, Muse, Suede and curiously…. The Baseballs.
i) Best ever moment in your life: Getting Married
j) Ambitions: I’d like to have my own home. Be a Shooting Instructor for my job, not just as a hobby and the thing I have always wanted to do since I was very small – travel into space.
k) Wise words: Life is short. Live life to the full as fast as you can. Do everything you have the oportunity to do and never regret a single bit of it because hindsight is about as useful as a chocolate teapot.
