CliveTheVillan is next for the Vital Villa interview.

1) When did you become a Villa fan and why?

My great uncle Joey started off when i was a kid giving me the Claret n Blue scarf hat gloves and them wooden things that click when you spin, and he used to tell me how great they are and started taking me to VP but my earliest memory is the Inter Milan game

2) What is your favourite Villa moment of all time/most treasured memory?

Seeing us beat Inter Milan was amazing

3) If you could bring back a former Villa player into this team (at his peak) who would it be and why?

4) Paul Lambert? Your opinion please?

I think he is a brave man, still has a lot to learn but you can see he has that special guts it takes to do things his own way, which i can see making us a force to be reckon with again

5) Best and worst moments of last season?

Sunderland home win was the obvious one but the Sunderland win away while MoN was manager put a smile on my face as well, the worst wow Wigan at home Chelski away hurt bad but nothing like the Bradford results knowing we was so close to the cup final made me depressed for a long time.

6) Some say last season was a success, others not so much. What is your opinion?

Success no, Aston Villa football club deserves better than relegation battles but that said Lambert did his job taking over a complete mess of a club financially and quality/squad depth wise so staying up was ok but not a success as now the real test begins for us

7) Your opinion of Randy Lerner and the board?

I think Randy Lerner has been found wanting on the football decisions he has made as owner of this club and made some bizarre decisions from allowing MoN to spend freely and fill the squad up of players on un-sustainable wages or appointing McLeish as manager, but his reluctance to it seems to me in allowing Lambert to replace the high earners of Dunne etc with fellow or a couple of high wage earners is holding us back a bit, but overall he is no devil and has kept a family tradition feel at Villa since taking over which i like

8) Which player/s should Villa sign this summer?

Abel Hernandez of Uruguay, Barry, Milner and Ash!

9) Which player/s should Villa get rid of this summer?

Hutton Given Ireland

10) Favourite current player?

11) Who was your first footballing hero and who are your favourite all time player/s?

Hero was God I’d say, i remember as a kid watching him even though his knee’s were almost touching but still he was immense and they could not get past him, he was unreal but also Laursen how inspirational he was to this club and how the ball seemd to get drawn to his head lol he was a legend who would head a bus for the Villa absolutely top draw

12) What do you expect us to do/finish this season?

Premier: 8th
FA Cup: Quarter finals
Capital One: Final

13) You can ask yourself any question you want to about Villa and what is your answer?

Why does it seem as though the world is against our Villa these days? It’s not only that you want to see Villa back where she belongs flying high so when she is struggling the pain and worry makes it just seem that way.

14) Just to change the theme slightly, a snap shot of you outside of football, answer or ignore at your leisure:

b) Age 33

j) Ambitions: To beat this eye condition and sit with my two boys watching Villa win the FA Cup

  • Ah yes Clive, in the chaos of last season I had forgotten about us beating Sunderland away. The thought just made me smile again too. I liked what you said about RL keeping the family feeling to the club which is very true

  • Good read Clive mate I gather you didnt answer the celebrity question cos the missus was watching ? lol
