1) When did you become a Villa fan and why?

My dad and his brother are mad Villa fans, so I guess I just inherited it like a genetic condition.

2) What is your favourite Villa moment of all time/most treasured memory?

Beating Man U at Wembley in 1994. It was my first visit and what a way to celebrate the day, beating the mighty Man U and lifting the cup! We were hanging around the area afterwards (my mate Dean was trying to find a ‘offie` to buy champagne!) and the Man U team bus stopped next to us. One of the lads gave them so much grief that Paul Ince tried to get off the bus and have a go back! He was restrained by other which was wise as we are all from Castle Vale. J

3) If you could bring back a former Villa player into this team (at his peak) who would it be and why?

Peter Withe. I loved watching him play and if the ball was anywhere near his head, it was going in the back of the net along with the keeper!

4) Paul Lambert? Your opinion please?

Great manager. I really like what he`s trying to build and he seems to have an eye for signing unknown players that (in the main) turn good. Even though last season was difficult, flirting with relegation and all, somehow it seemed different to the time under that other Scot I will not name. He`s a nice guy who knows the game inside out and I can`t believe some people were calling for his head! In Lambert we trust.

5) Best and worst moments of last season?

Getting dumped out of the cup at home to Bradford was the worst for me. I really thought we were going to get another day out at Wembley and the draw couldn`t have been better for us really, away first then bring them back to B6. Shame the lads didn`t read the script eh? Best (sad as it sounds) was Arsenal beating Wigan on that Tuesday night.

6) Some say last season was a success, others not so much. What is your opinion?

Mixed bag for me. We saw some great young players earning their stripes, the likes of Westwood, Lowton and of course Benteke really did the business for us so it`s laid the foundation for what could be a great team. But it`s a results game and we didn`t get many; next season will be a good yard stick to see how the plan is going.

7) Your opinion of Randy Lerner and the board?

Always liked Randy Lerner and always will, although I think Krulak is (was) a bit of an uninformed ‘gob` and Faulkner smacks of a yes man to me.

8) Which player/s should Villa sign this summer?

Defenders and some steel in midfield would be nice and I`d quite like Scott Sinclair even if he`s just on loan.

9) Which player/s should Villa get rid of this summer?

Given has been a great servant and just gone on with things but he heads up a list which also contains Bannan, Ireland and Bent. Bent owes us nothing as far as I`m concerned as his goals kept us up when we first signed him; he`ll be a Newcastle player before too long.

10) Favourite current player?

Benteke. The lad has got it all and for a big guy, he`s really comfortable on the ball.

11) Who was your first footballing hero and who are your favourite all time player/s?

As above, Peter With and all-time favourites include Cantona, Ricky Villa and of course Bosko Balaban. J

12) What do you expect us to do/finish this season?

Premier 12th
FA Cup: ΒΌ finals
Capital One: Winners

13) You can ask yourself any question you want to about Villa and what is your answer?

Why on Earth did you cancel Steve McLarens interview and then go ahead and sign HIM instead? Answer: The General had some nerve gas left over from ‘Nam and things got out of hand.

14) Just to change the theme slightly, a snap shot of you outside of football, answer or ignore at your leisure:
(based on our WHO ARE YOU thread!!!)

a) Which celebrity/s would you most like to meet and why? Stephen Fry because I think he`s really funny and an all-round clever clogs. I could also ask him to stop trying to ‘off` himself too as QU wouldn`t be the same without him.
b) Age 40
c) Location: Appleby Magna, Derbyshire
d) Favourite alcoholic drink: Bulmer`s Original
e) Favourite non-alcoholic drink: Tea
f) Favourite Film/s: Star Wars, The Pianist, Scent of a Woman.
g) Favourite TV Show/s: Boardwalk Empire, The Sopranos, The Office (UK version of course) and Phoenix Nights.
h) Music?: Pretty much everything unless it`s some boy band churning out a cover version which they have slaughtered. I do like a bit of Motown.
i) Best ever moment in your life: Birth of my kids, cheesy but the truth.
j) Ambitions: Retire before I reach 50, buy a villa on the east coast of Majorca and spend the day on my boat.
k) Wise words: You can spend the rest of your life trying to change somebody or just accept them for what they are.
