Lions82 is next for the Vital Villa interview.

1) When did you become a Villa fan and why?

Both me and my younger brother pretty much from birth following on from my Dad, both my uncles, my Grandfather and my Great-Grandfather!

2) What is your favourite Villa moment of all time/most treasured memory?

Having been born in 1994 most of Villa`s cup triumphs were either before my time or during my younger childhood years. Both trips to Wembley under O`Neill are probably my most treasured memories. However the demolition job of Birmingham City sticks in the mind along with the 2-0 victory over Chelsea.

3) If you could bring back a former Villa player into this team (at his peak) who would it be and why?

I think Martin Laursen was an absolute beast of a player. He wore his heart on his sleeve and had some top class strikers in his back pocket. I have a strong feeling he`ll return as manager one day!

4) Paul Lambert? Your opinion please?

Lambert, in my opinion of course, has done an excellent job. His promotion of players like Weimann, Clark, Baker, Guzan was much needed. Our play with Bent was far too one dimensional and sadly Given struggled (and showed his age) at Euro 2012. He did have a very very dodgy spell in December/January when playing 3 at the back where serious questions were asked. Thankfully he and the team pulled through that. I think now Villa will push on though with Lambert in charge.

5) Best and worst moments of last season?

Worst – The 3-0 loss to relegation rivals Wigan was in many ways worse than an 8-0 loss to the then European Champions Chelsea.

Best- The 6-1 win against Sunderland than took us above Newcastle in one of the most bizarre swings in goal difference.

6) Some say last season was a success, others not so much. What is your opinion?

I would say last season was, yet again, a transition year. As was the Houllier year and the McL**** year. With 2012/13 the best transition year of all! Finally it was a transition year with some progress in terms of developing new players. For the first time in 3 years we will have the same manager over the summer going into the new season!

7) Your opinion of Randy Lerner and the board?

Randy has largely been a good owner, McLeish aside. He has put money into the club, redeveloped the training ground and kept a back seat. However, if he isn`t willing to continue to invest in the club then he ought to find a new owner for the club with his same level of passion and commitment but with deeper pockets.

8) Which player/s should Villa sign this summer?

We could do with an attacking midfielder, competition across the whole back line and a young striker to take Bent`s place.

9) Which player/s should Villa get rid of this summer?

Given, Hutton, Bannan, Ireland, N`Zogbia (despite continued hope) and Bent!! The Out`s are more important than the In`s to free up some squad places and cash!

10) Favourite current player?

Matty Lowton. Hard working, committed and real potential. Very impressive to have such an impact from full back at both ends of the pitch.

11) Who was your first footballing hero and who are your favourite all time player/s?

Probably both Juan Pablo Angel and Olof Mellberg as first heroes. Martin Laursen for all time.

12) What do you expect us to do/finish this season?

Premier: 8-12th
FA Cup: 4th round
Carling: FINAL – pleeeeease.

13) You can ask yourself any question you want to about Villa and what is your answer?

Q. With so many clubs changing managers, is there a window of opportunity for Aston Villa?
A. Well yes I think there is! There is of course a top 6 of the Manchester Clubs, Arsenal, Spurs, Chelsea and probably now Liverpool. However with ‘mid-table` teams like Stoke and Everton getting new managers there is no clear cut 7th placed team. Step forward ASTON VILLA! Let`s establish ourselves just outside England`s elite and then go from there! After all, 7th place can equal European football with a bit of luck!

14) Just to change the theme slightly, a snap shot of you outside of football, answer or ignore at your leisure:
