1) When did you become a Villa fan and why?

My Dad came to Birmingham from Manchester in 1948 and alternated between Villa and Albion. All of us became ardent Villa and I went to my first game in 1979 although I don`t have any memory of which one it was as I was 7 at the time.

2) What is your favourite Villa moment of all time/most treasured memory?

Too many to mention! Winning the European Cup although I wasn`t thereL !!! Beating Bradford at home in 1987 when I knew the Villa were coming back up. Everton 6-2 in 1989 for my first game standing on the Holte. Inter Milan at home where we beat them 2-0.

3) If you could bring back a former Villa player into this team (at his peak) who would it be and why?

Paul McGrath because he was the best player I have ever seen at the Villa. Although we usually need a goal scorer so I`d go for Pongo Waring!

4) Paul Lambert? Your opinion please?

Made mistakes last season but I have a really good feeling about him. I think in 3 years` time we`ll be touting him as a football genius.

5) Best and worst moments of last season?

Sunderland at home, Bradford at home

6) Some say last season was a success, others not so much. What is your opinion?

Can`t describe it as a success but I think the changes were necessary and we`ll be better for it this season

7) Your opinion of Randy Lerner and the board?

Was delighted at the start but I think the jury is out at the moment. I think they`ve got things right but please no more monumental cock ups! I still sometimes have to sit in a darkened room when I think about McLeish – why, Randy why?

8) Which player/s should Villa sign this summer?

Most important signing will be Benteke signing his contract and putting it all to bed for at least one more season. Aside from that a proper left back is a must – don`t think Bennett is up to it and Luna doesn`t look to be a stand-out performer. Hopefully I`m wrong and Lambert`s bought another gem.

9) Which player/s should Villa get rid of this summer?

Stephen Ireland

10) Favourite current player?

Ashley Westwood

11) Who was your first footballing hero and who are your favourite all time player/s?

Brian Little was my first hero but didn`t see that much of him. Remember going to his testimonial in 1980 against an England XI. Mum sewed the number 8 on the back of my Villa shirt as a kid and I just thought he was brilliant. So upsetting to hear some Villa fans slating him when he was manager. Favourite all time players – Paul McGrath and Gordon Cowans

12) What do you expect us to do/finish this season?

Premier 10th
FA Cup: Qtr Finals
Carling: Qtr Finals

13) You can ask yourself any question you want to about Villa and what is your answer?

What are the things that are really special about supporting the Villa?

The things that get me about the Villa are that when I was a kid we used to park by the school, walk down the hill to the ground, past a stately home and look at the most beautiful stand in the country with stained glass windows. You could hear the Holte start up from Aston Park and it was a magical feeling. There`s no other place like it in football. I knew I was lucky to support a really special club. I went to away grounds and they were all dumps compared to Villa Park. The club invented league football and stood there in the 1930s in Munich refusing to give a Nazi salute to Hitler. Only club to win and lose the cup in the same season! All the stuff of legends. The colours are special too. Not too many clubs run out in Claret and Blue and those that do openly admit they copied the colours from us. The name has a special ring to it too. It`s not a City or a United and there really is only one Villa. I lived in the same road as Johnny Dixon. An absolute gent and you could chat to the bloke that lifted the cup for us. Always makes me laugh when I hear Blues fans go on about us being stuck in the past and up our own backsides but do you know what? We`ve got a right to be because I support Aston Villa, the greatest club the world has ever seen. When I sing it I sing it loud because I`m singing a statement of fact not just a wish.
