Astonian Villan Interview
1 – How long have you been a Villa fan and how did you first get the Claret & Blue faith?
Have been since I was 3, my fave pic is of me lying on a Villa towel in my very first kit.
2 – What was your first game?
Can’t remember my very first to be honest it was 25 years ago now, however the first game I have full memory of is the last day of the original Holte. We beat Liverpool 2-1 with all goals coming at the Holte.
3 – What is your most memorable moment as a Villa fan?
Going to Italy to watch us against Inter the place was buzzin and we slaughtered them.
4 – And the worst moment?
Has to be the Blue Noses Defeats!
5 – Who are your favourite current Villa players?
All of the boys who played last season.
6 – Which former player/s are your ultimate heroes?
I could go all the way back to before I was born but I won’t bother. So I’ll have to say Daley, Taylor, McGrath, Townsend to name but a few.
7 – Which player do you think was the worst to ever put on the team colours?
Fashanu only because the poor sod was falling apart.
8 – What is the best goal you have seen Villa score and which is your favourite game?
So many to choose from, Savo’s in the Cup Final, Petrov’s this season but 1 that stands out for me is Townsend’s free kick against Chelsea many moons ago.
9 – Best away ground visited?
Inter Milan by a long shot.
10 – Who would you like to see Villa sign this summer?
Van Der Vaart, Boruc.
11 – What are your predictions for us this season in the:
a) League Champs
b) Europe Champs
c) Carling Cup Champs
d) Fa Cup Champs
No pressure lads!
12 – What is your opinion of Martin O’Neill?
Potentially got what it takes to be our greatest.
13 – What is your opinion of Randy Lerner and the new board?
Premierships best with out doubt.
14 – Where do you sit at Villa and are you a season ticket holder?
Whenever I get chance it’s Holte all the way, live to far from Brum now to get a season ticket 🙁
15 – And finally (stolen without shame from Vital Arsenal!) if you could invite 4 people connected to Villa, living or dead, to a dinner party, who would they be? And you can add one bit of top totty as well to make the party go with a ‘bang’ ;o)
