It is Reza’s turn on the Vital Villan Interviews..

1 – How long have you been a Villa fan and how did you first get the Claret & Blue faith?

Been a fan since 1971

2 – What was your first game?

Travelled from South Africa as a kid to watch us beat Liverpool 5-1

3 – What is your most memorable moment as a Villa fan?

Phew……a few but winning the European Cup and being amongst the fans ranks as my proudest moment

4 – And the worst moment?

When we were relegated in 1987…and being beaten 3 nil at Blues 5 years ago

5 – Who are your favourite current Villa players?
Ashley Young, Curtis Davies and Martin Laursen

6 – Which former player/s are your ultimate heroes?

Gordon Cowans and the teams of 81 and 82

7 – Which player do you think was the worst to ever put on the team colours?

Adrian Heath!

8 – What is the best goal you have seen Villa score and which is your favourite game?

We’ve scored some beauties but Savo’s goal in the League Cup in 1996 was a fantastic strike so too was Steve Staunton’s against Coventry in the 90’s and that special goal Barry scored against Spurs two seasons ago

9 – Best away ground visited?

Old Trafford

10 – Who would you like to see Villa sign this summer?
I’d loved Henry but more realistically young English talent in the mould of Bentley would be good additions for the future

11 – What are your predictions for us this season in the:
a) League
5th
b) Europe quarter finals
c) Carling Cup 4th round
d) Fa Cup finalists

12 – What is your opinion of Martin O’Neill?
If being interviewed twice for the England job is anything to go by, he commands a decent amount of respect. I would like to see him attract more players than he has currently demonstrated. It would be ideal if we had players saying “I want to play for Martin O’Neill”

13 – What is your opinion of Randy Lerner and the new board?

I’ve met Randy Lerner a good few times and my impressions are that he is a humble leader. I am reasonably happy with the new board and if our progress is anything to go by, we are on the up!

14 – Where do you sit at Villa and are you a season ticket holder?

Not a season ticket holder as I’m South African but I do get over a few times during the season and sit in the Trinity Road stand

15 – And finally if you could invite 4 people connected to Villa, living or dead, to a dinner party, who would they be? And you can add one bit of top totty as well to make the party go with a ‘bang’ ;o)

Pong Waring…no doubts about him. Steve Stride my good mate from Villa days gone by……Gordon Cowans and most certainly, Paul McGrath!

With thanks to Reza the mad South African who pulls faces at me from a’high!
