And onward we go with our interviews, this time from the US of A, VillaBrownie, and no, even she doesn’t want me at her dinner party (see question 15) Gutted!

1 – How long have you been a Villa fan and how did you first get the Claret & Blue faith?

Since early 2007… I realized during the 2006 World Cup that soccer (football) was a really fun sport to watch, and once the American football season ended I decided to try to find a team to support so I could learn more about it. I was on the Browns’ website and saw a link to Aston Villa. I emailed the contact person (Fear!) and he led me to Vital. The rest, as they say, is history.

2 – What was your first game?

Villa versus the Columbus Crew (August 2007). So fun! My first game in the UK was Wigan-Villa in late December 2007; my first match at Villa Park was versus the Spurs on New Year’s Day 2008. What a great way to start the year.

3 – What is your most memorable moment as a Villa fan?

Sitting with Steeler and the Villa reserves behind the dugout during the 5-1 slaughter of Birmingham City. That was amazing.

4 – And the worst moment?

Arsenal scoring in the last possible seconds of the match at Emirates. That was awful.

5 – Who are your favourite current Villa players?

Marlon Harewood (seriously), John Carew, and–strictly for playing ability–Ashley Young.

6 – Which former player/s are your ultimate heroes?

Being a newbie, I don’t have that much historical knowledge. From what I’ve read/seen, I’m going to go with Paul McGrath.

7 – Which player do you think was the worst to ever put on the team colours?

Since I’ve been a fan, Luke Moore. No question.

8 – What is the best goal you have seen Villa score and which is your favourite game?

I have a soft spot for Carew’s (second?) goal against the Blues, mostly because of how he celebrated with that kid. It was really fantastic.

My favorite game… in terms of sheer experience, the Columbus Crew match was amazing. I dragged a number of friends/family there with me and we all had an utterly fantastic time. The chanting, the cheering, the celebrating… Villa fans were (and are!) awesome, and it totally sucked me into this world.

9 – Best away ground visited?

Well, my choices are Crew Stadium, the JJB, and Emirates. I’m going with Emirates.

None of them come close to Villa Park.

10 – Who would you like to see Villa sign this summer?

Someone. Anyone. I would like to enjoy reading 100% Villa again.

11 – What are your predictions for us this season in the:
a) League
5th
b) Europe Group stages
c) Carling Cup Victory is ours!
d) Fa Cup Semi finals

12 – What is your opinion of Martin O’Neill?

I like him. He knows how to build a team, and he’s doing things the right way–finding the right players at the right time, rather than splashing cash around on ‘names’ who will wind up being a waste of money.

13 – What is your opinion of Randy Lerner and the new board?

I’m a Browns fan–I will never say a word against Randy Lerner.

14 – Where do you sit at Villa and are you a season ticket holder?

I usually sit with Mr. Jonathan Fear, my English husband (shared with Siggy and Steeler, of course).

15 – And finally (stolen without shame from Vital Arsenal!) if you could invite 4 people connected to Villa, living or dead, to a dinner party, who would they be? And you can add one bit of top totty as well to make the party go with a ‘bang’ ;o)

(1) Randy Lerner; (2) Martin O’Neill; (3) William Scattergood; (4) William McGregor; (Top totty) John Carew 😉

With thanks to VillaBrownie
