Stephen Warnock is full of praise for James Milner but concedes with the right offer Villa will have trouble holding onto the midfielder.

Speaking to the press following England’s 3-1 victory over Mexico last night, Warnock was full of praise for his team mate saying that it’s no surprise the PFA’s Young Player of the Year is in demand following the season he had just had with the club, on top of his obvious England recognition now.

Quoted on ITV Sport Warnock said:

‘I don’t think the amount of attention James is getting is a surprise. Everyone knows his ability and what he’s put in on the pitch at Villa this year.’

Adding most people knew about his reputation before he joined the club and knew the potential he had back then, so him simply reaching that potential now is no surprise at all.

He also doesn’t think the speculation surrounding his future will phase him whilst he’s away on international duty, and whilst he obviously would prefer Milly to be lining up in the claret and blue season he says:

‘Of course we want him at Villa next season but I think, if the price is right, it’s very difficult for a club to turn it down.’
