According to Zat Knight we don’t need to beat Chelsea, we just have to make sure we don’t lose.

Speaking to the E&S, Knight insisted it wouldn’t be considered a disaster if we didn’t take all 3 points from the Blues, but we have to make sure we walk out with at least a share of the spoils.

‘As long as we get something out of the game, at least a point, then it is a step in the right direction. We just don’t want to lose the game basically.

‘People are still putting Chelsea in the title running, so what does that say about us when we are two points above them?’

Chelsea fixtures have always been an eventful time for Zat when he’s played. He scored on his debut and ended up getting sent off in the 4-4 Boxing Day clash, but this time round he’s definitely happy for it to be a quiet affair:

‘It’s always been an eventful fixture for me. This time I’d settle for a clean sheet. I’d be happy with that!’

I completely agree, 4 goals for us with a clean sheet would suit me perfectly aswell Zat.

  • And I tend to agree with young Mr Knight. Obviously three points would be preferable, but for once, a home draw wouldn’t be all that bad. It would ensure that our confidence remains high, keep our unbeaten run ticking over, and leave us still two points ahead of Roman’s lot.

  • should be a fascinating game, a win and we really ARE up there but I’d take a draw! I would wish you luck Merlin but you’d know I was lying!!!

  • I’d be pleased enough with a draw but a win would put us equal on points with Liverpool – if only for a few hours – and, from a psychological point of view that would be great.
It could act as a platform to help Villa to see off both Chelsea and Arsenal during February and have Liverpool looking over their shoulders.
I think Man U have the Premier League done and dusted but we could challenge for second.
(And we might end up fifth, I realise!)

  • A draw would suffice from the table perspective, after the defeat at Stamford Bridge earlier this year only a win will do. I’m sorry but that’s the way it is. Now lads, you’ve got your instructions, so go out there and break their hearts.

  • It’s a big moment for both clubs and hopefully we’ll see a great game. First time around we (Chelsea) had little trouble. Our current form is pathetic and yours is strong. Plus, you’re at home. I expect a draw.

  • I think we need to maintain doing better or the same as the Arsenal …. however i do see Everton catching them …. they def have the best run in out of the top 6 with only Villa and Chelsea to play – both away. But i def fancy us to challenge for 2nd especially with pool to play Man U away and villa and arsenal at home ….. on the Chelsea note …. they have aprt from us …. spurs away, everton at home, and arsenal away …. its gonna be interesting … especially after weve played pool and man u and everton – one after another … we then have 6 games left ….
