The Mirror say that Aston Villa are set to bid £1million for German keeper Gerhard Tremmel. The 30-year-old keeper is apparently looking to leave Energie Cottbus and has also been linked to Blackburn Rovers. Wiki: Click Here

Oh my lord, I think that is about it for today…..! Can’t be surely? Lets have a dig about.

Well, former Villa and Liverpool striker Peter Crouch is being linked for a move away from Portsmouth to Blackburn Rovers… nope, that doesn’t help in my search for Villa links.

Former Villa great and bearded wonder Olof Mellberg is moving from Juventus to Olympiacos for 2.5million euros, nope that doesn’t help Villa either.

Oh this will do, it is a repeat but beggers can’t be choosers:

Apparently Everton and Aston Villa will do battle for 29-year-old Portuguese Valencia defender Miguel, yup, sorry, I did warn you this was a repeat! The players agent Paulo Barbaso said: ‘Miguel may well be coming to England. Now it is difficult to say who with, but next week we can say more.’ He also said that Chelsea isn’t an option because they already have a lot of right-backs!

The Express & Star have an article saying that Villa have warned off Premiership new boys Wolves, Blues and Championship new boys (!) Middlesbrough from trying to buy Villa and England U21 midfielder Craig Gardner. Good news, I like him and look forward to seeing the Villa lad develop at Villa Park for many years to come. Gardner is under contract until 2012 so is well sorted and regarded at Villa by Martin O’Neill.

The same paper also repeats the links for Spurs trio (remember the old chocolate bars TRIO? I digress) David Bentley, Tom Huddlestone and Jermaine Jenas.

Apparently Sunderland’s new boss Steve ‘the potato head’ Bruce is interested in taking Nigel Hokey-Cokey to The Stadium of Light.

Had a few whispers that there are a few done deals that won’t go through until July 1. No idea how reliable those whispers are.
