Andi Weimann has said this season has been great experience for our younger lads, and they are learning all the time.
Speaking to Talksport after the Stoke match, Weimann said:
‘It’s great for our experience to play out there. Against Liverpool it was more football and today it was more physical so you are learning every game. It’s really good for the youngsters.’
There’s certainly a number of them learning at the moment, Bannan, Herd, Baker, Lichaj, Gardner. We’ve had a cameo from Carruthers, and we shouldn’t forget about the likes of Clark and Albrighton either. Weimann adds that it’s the progress of all the old Academy lads that pleases him, not just his own which he’s delighted about:
‘It’s the aim when you come to the Academy that you want to play for the first team. With so many coming through we are all happy to be in the team and hopefully it will stay like that as long as possible.’
