In a busy summer of incomings and outgoings, Villa today announced their best bit of business so far – the club has agreed a new 5-year contract with ‘Super’ John McGinn, last season’s Fans’ AND Players’ Player of the Year.

The player himself was equally delighted to extend his stay at Villa Park, having been linked with a big money move to Manchester United earlier in the transfer window. The Scottish international told the club’s OS: “I have loved every minute of my time at Aston Villa and I am delighted to commit myself to the Club for the long term.”

I have to agree with Pete above – the signings of Tom Heaton and Super John are the best business of the window so far for Villa and securing McGinn long-term is a real statement of intent from the club. Head over to the forum to have your say.
