What Aston Villa Need To Do To Beat PNE Tonight

Three things we need to do to bounce back from the weekends defeat v Fulham, to beat Preston North End.

1) Pray we have someone left on the left…!

It`s all going wrong with injuries just as we got ourselves into a lovely rhythm and were winning.

Plenty of opinions in the forum thread.

sirdennis said: “Replace Albert and Super Jack with as close to like for like players as possible. O’Hare for Grealish and with Green injured there is only Thor who can play on the left unless RHM can do a job there.”

deanovilla: “But if we’re talking like for like (Bit of pace and ability to score a goal) then I think Grabban, RHM or dare I say even Gabby would be a better replacement for Adomah than Thor.”

I`d assume that Grabban will be played and will be on the left. Sorted, hopefully he`s fit and up for it for us. I`m sure he will be.

Whatever they decide player wise:

2) Get back to how we took on the Blues.

Play on our front foot, don`t show the opposition too much respect, push them and let them know they are at Villa Park and that means they are in for a battle. We cannot give PNE time on the ball. As sirdennis said, “no cagey nonsense.”

The injuries we have are big losses but lets not start sitting back just because a couple of (good!) players are out.

3) Not being a boo boy but…

I can`t see what Onomah has brought to the party at all since moving on loan from Spurs. So I`m far from sure why Steve Bruce has stuck with him? McParlandTheGreat agrees, saying in the thread “Recognise that Onomah gives us nothing. Lansbury is a far more positive option.”

I`d agree, lets give Lansbury license to get forward and have a boot up his backside if he doesn`t do so. Now he`s cut off his top-knot, he deserves a chance!!! As an attacking midfielder, he should add something positive to the team and at least he is our player, no point blocking our own squad for loan signings UNLESS the loans are bang in form and giving 100% obviously.

And what can us Villa fans bring to the occasion?

Lets be vocal in a positive way and not get all nervous and agitated. It`s time for us to make a bit more noise as the Villa boys look to keep up their impressive recent (Fulham aside!) form.
