Whatever Could Xia Mean By This?

Aston Villa owner Dr Tony Xia has again taken to social media today and he seems to have sent a less than subtle hint to a couple of players ahead of the Birmingham City clash this weekend.

Hosting the blue part of the City at Villa Park on midday Sunday for our latest Championship clash, everyone is aware of what the game means in terms of bragging rights, but also – and some would say more importantly – victory would drive us three points closer to automatic promotion and push them three points closer to a return to League One.

Obviously Xia is fully aware of the permutations and he’s not only made clear what he wants on Sunday from the team, there’s also an individual challenge for a few players in particular.

Retweeting highlights from our April 2008 five one victory over them, there was a little ‘FYI’ directed towards Jack Grealish, Robert Snodgrass, Scott Hogan and Conor Hourihane.

Now I’m not sure if we should admire Xia’s cheek here or just admire the highlights? Whatever floats your boat I guess.
