Ciaran Clark believes our young Lions will have benefited from the rigours of this season, and will show their best in the next campaign.
Speaking to the Official Site as we gear up for the season closer against Norwich, Clark said the experience gained by the youngsters will stand them in good stead for the future.
If we are looking for some positivity from the season, I suppose this is something we can be thankful for?
‘I think everyone has been strong and shown a good attitude. Hopefully the club can be stronger from a season like this, we can use this experience in seasons to come and build on it and push forward. There are a load of exciting players, Albrighton, Bannan and Weimann and we’ve all played together since 15-16 and know what each other can do and we bond well. It can only be good for the club.’
Some of our best moments on the pitch have come when the team have been predominantly made up of our ex reservists, and I’ve already said on the forum I would go with youth for the Norwich game. Give as many of them as we can 90 minutes, and see how they handle it.
Can’t be much worse than the dross the seniors have served up this season!
‘You have to grow up quickly in a relegation fight. It’s a big learning curve and experience for us and I think it can only be good for the club.’
