Following on from all the Trezeguet being tapped up by Mohamed Elneny rumours that had apparently seen him decide to make the switch from Aston Villa back to Turkey and Besiktas at the end of the campaign, the 25-year-old Egyptian international rubbished those claims himself this week.
His response was simple and showed he was committed to his contract with us, as we’d taken the chance on him and brought him over to our game and the ‘dream’ of the Premier League, but with some fans not convinced given his inconsistency as he continues to adjust to life with us, plenty on social media were quick to criticise both his contract length, whilst also seeming to imply he should’ve hit the ground running, and as he hasn’t, he’s a massive flop.
Will Trez Improve With 12 Months Under His Belt?
Yes, We've Seen The Signs
No, Cash In When We Can
Thankfully not everyone sees it that way as real football isn’t FIFA, and it seems plenty were willing to learn from how quickly we wrote off the likes of Jordan Amavi and Jordan Veretout previously.

Absolutely correct.

What’s wrong with people. First season in a completely new league he’s done alright – never put less than 110% in and scored some important goals.

Nah not even he’s just really inconsistent, if he can be consistent we’re gonna love him, right now he needs to be consistently good if he can’t that we gotta move him 🤷🏾♂️ someone like Jota and Danny are the definition of bloody awful

Same here idk why people give him criticism

What we all need to remember is we need to have a squad capable to cope with injuries and rotation if we're ever to get back ''up there'' Trez like Luiz Nakamba Wesley,,, can get better and be our squad depth, we can add more expensive quality each season on top

Even if this was hause or Reina they wouldn’t get this much stick but trezeguet doesn’t start when really he should. I’d rather see him and el ghazi down the wings because it allows jack to be placed back into midfield

Villa fans need to give him time trez is on the bench half of the time and villa fans expect him to score and assist like 30 in his first season ive always liked trez as a player
