The Birmingham Mail did the legwork on this one, saved me a load of time as it was on the list of to do`s!

Who is out of contract and when?

I`m SO looking forward to June 30th 2018. Hmmmm, I wonder why!

Out of contract next summer – June 2018

Gabby Agbonlahor Opinion: Surely done and dusted that he`ll be gone? I certainly hope so. It would be a massive mistake to give him a new deal. I hope Steve Bruce agrees!

Alan Hutton Opinion: A good servant but it will be time for him to move on.

Mark Bunn Opinion: I wouldn`t imagine they`ll look to renew his contract?

John Terry Opinion: Time will tell, father time will have a say, as will how he feels this season goes.

Chris Samba Opinion: I`d not have given him a contract as I think it cost us Nathan Baker, time will tell how he does. Big fella isn`t he? I`ll not go out of my way to argue with him!

And our younger players:

Kevin Toner
Mitchell Clark
Jake Doyle-Hayes
Callum O’Hare

Opinion… crucial these are signed to longer deals to either get them regularly in the full team or so that they have a sell on value to ‘pay back` the investment through the youth academy. As Michael Jackson often said “I believe the children are our future` and hopefully this crop will prove that right!

We also have loans expiring

Sam Johnstone Opinion: His contract runs out at Old Trafford in June 2018 so will be available. Will he impress enough this season to get Villa offering him a deal? Will he impress so much others come in for him? Time will tell. Be a good one to get on a free as far as I can see so far.

Josh Onomah: Opinion: He`s not going to be one we can keep, he`s obviously rated at Spurs and just on loan to get match time.

Robert Snodgrass Opinion: May well be one that we need to look to secure on a permanent deal, I would imagine that hinges massively on whether we gain promotion or not.

Two years left (June 2019)

Jed Steer Opinion: Looking good so far this season in the cup games, one to keep.

Micah Richards Opinion: Injuries have ruined any chance he`s had of making it at Villa. I`m told he`s a great and positive influence in the dressing room but his wages are very expensive for a cheerleader. No renewal unless something miraculous happens for him.

Ritchie De Laet Opinion: I`m reserving judgment but I liked how he moved down a league for first team football, that shows character, quite possibly one to get an extension.

Mile Jedinak Opinion: Father time will decide that one, it`ll be the end I`d think.

Glenn Whelan Opinion: Father time again deciding?

Jordan Lyden Opinion: Get him signed up for longer!

Andre Green Opinion: GET HIM SIGNED UP FOR LONGER!”‘

Easah Suliman Opinion: Needs an extension.

Carles Gil Opinion: On loan with a view to a permanent move, hopefully he gets that move, he`s a good little footballer and deserves that.

Keinan Davis Opinion: Needs an extension quick smart!

Oscar Borg Opinion: No opinion, no idea, but like his name!

Three years left (June 2020)

James Chester
Opinion: Will only be 31, I can see no reason why we`d not want to keep him longer.

Jack Grealish Opinion: This, I think, was a make or break season for Jack then he got the freak kidney injury. Hopefully he is recovering and re-charging. In a side with swagger and going forward, like how we played v Norwich City and Wigan Athletic, I think we would see a totally different Grealish to the one we saw in small doses last season. To be decided!

Birkir Bjarnason Opinion: Depends how he develops. Like his attitude and he looked much better v Wigan in the second half.

Conor Hourihane Opinion: He`ll be 29 and should be at his peak, now he`s being played in the right position he`s starting to look very good.

Jonathan Kodjia Opinion: Pretty obvious, we`ll struggle to keep him if we don`t get promoted though.

Ross McCormack Opinion: He`ll be gone, shame but it`s just the way things work out sometimes. I`d still be giving him this four months (before Jan transfer window) to prove himself, not in the reserves but in the full team. Looked fit and keen when he came on v Wigan. Why not, whilst Kodjia is out, give him a go with proper supply? Sod the silly arguments, get over it and move on.

Albert Adomah Opinion: Not sure, he needs to be more consistent, hopefully that is now coming.

Ahmed Elmohamady Opinion: Too soon to judge.

Rushian Hepburn-Murphy Opinion: If he can get over his injury woes, hopefully he can impress.

Jordan Amavi Opinion: On loan at Marseille, I don`t expect to see him in a Villa shirt again. Thought he was totally overrated personally.

Four years left (June 2021)

Scott Hogan
Opinion: Hopefully he`ll have been scoring for fun for us and we`ll want to keep!

Henri Lansbury Opinion: No idea yet, he`s not showed his real self yet, I hope there is far more to come.

Neil Taylor Opinion: Who knows?

James Bree Opinion: Young lad bought for the now but also the future, hopefully by this time he`ll be a first team regular and we`ll want to keep him. He`ll only be 23 and could have years more to give Villa.
