Following Monday’s successful trip to Wembley for Aston Villa as we took a deserved, albeit not quite comfortable at points, Championship Play-Off Final victory over Derby County it’s all thoughts to next season, spending, strengthening, paying Financial Fair Play fines and what have you.
We renew acquaintances with some old friends even though we disappointingly no longer carry the ‘ever-present’ tag in the Premier League, but we also have two interesting games against a side obsessed with ‘minding the gap’ which is funny as our history record says 54 wins to us with only 39 losses, and the last time we met Wolverhampton Wanderers we spanked them 4-1.
Each to their own I guess.
Whilst Vital Villans continue sobering up after Monday’s trip to the spa for a bit of relaxation, this Forum Thread is going to run and run until August and I’m amazed more didn’t actually say Wolves at home for the opening game for a bit of banter payback.
Everton’s a decent shout given both sides history in the game but I can certainly get on board with any side we take three points from to get us up and running.
