Would You Like Souness At Villa?

Managers names are, obviously, being bandied about for the vacant position at Aston Villa. What with all the talk of takeovers, lets hope that Doug Ellis doesn’t have time to appoint a new man. My understanding is that Martin O’Neil WILL come to Villa but not under Doug Ellis, directly contradicting a story on the Daily Mail online site yesterday.

Other names still in the frame are Roy Aitken, currently caretaker – can’t see that happening in a month of Sundays.

Sam Allardyce – not if Doug is in charge, Big Sam would cost too much in compensation.

Gordon ‘Sid Cowans’ – not convinced he’ll be approached, surely if him or McDonald were in the frame, they’d have been appointed caretakever boss?

Graeme Souness – majority of comments I’ve seen with that link seem to be nnnnoooooooooooooooo! I did a Sky interview yesterday and was asked, I said (despite the fact I like him as a pundit and think he is always good value when interviewed) that he is an average manager with an average record. Doug is a below average chairman with a below average record. So it sounds like a match made in hell for the Villa fans!!!!
