With left back Jordan Amavi’s move to Sevilla collapsing with a leak of he failed a medical making headline, Dr Tony Xia yesterday defended the player.
With Aston Villa announcing the deal and a transfer fee of up to £8million agreed, as well as a new five year contract, all that was left was a medical but as we know, it was reported that Amavi had failed that medical owing to what we presumed was complications with his cruciate ligament injury that kept him out for nine months.
Of course it did seem strange as Amavi made 36 appearances last season and he didn’t seem to have any issues with his knee, but Dr Tony Xia took to social media yesterday to provide some clarity on the matter.
JA’s medical report was good. Someone hi-level didn’t agree with the transfer&found a reason of injury history which is really unfair to JA. https://t.co/b2GsiINJQo

Describing it as ‘unfair’ to Amavi, it appears a swift one has been pulled by the Spanish club.
