David O’Leary has said that the Villa faithful have yet to see the best of Milan Baros and says there is far more to come.

Baros is currently joint top scorer with Steven Davis, both on six goals. Baros has five in the Prem and one in the league cup (Davis four in the league, two in the league cup).

The Czech international is back in the team after sitting out the FA Cup victory over hull due to a one match ban for picking up five yellow cards (three for dissent!).

O’Leary told the official site: ‘It’s great to have Milan back for the West Ham game. I think we’d have won the Hull game for more comfortably with him in the team, because of the threat that he gives us. Baros gives us a real cutting edge. When Henry plays, I’m not saying he’s going to do it every week, but there’s a threat there.’

He also says that the former Liverpool striker had to take his time to get used to Villa and start to settle into the club adding: ‘Nobody comes to any team and just sparkles straight away. Plus he was coming to a team that was very unsettled. He was playing with Kevin Phillips, then Juan, then Luke Moore. You need to play with your partner.’

It also looks like O’Leary is seeing the Luke Moore and Milan Baros partnership as something that could prosper, bad news for record signing Juan Pablo Angel who appears to have taken on a super sub role.

O’Leary continued:

‘I think he’s enjoying the run he’s had with Luke. You can see with them that they’re enjoyed that run together. I think Luke and Milan have played really, really well as the front two and they’ve been supplemented by Juan coming off the bench. I think we’ll see the best of Milan Baros as time goes on. I think we’ll see what Milan Baros is in the World Cup and, as he goes on here, he’ll get better and better.’
