Late on Monday evening Aston Villa confirmed that young talents Viljami Sinisalo and Finn Azaz had again headed out for loan spells for the full 2022/23 campaign.

20-year-old Finland youth international goalkeeper Sinisalo heads out for a spell at League One level and joins up with local side Burton Albion for the remainder of the year, following his earlier successful 29 game spell with Scottish side Ayr United back in the 2020/21 campaign. As fans will remember, he signed a new three year deal at the club last week.

League Two Player of the Year for Newport County (and named in the League Two Team of the Year) for 2021/22, 21-year-old Finn Azaz, heads back out again and also tests himself at a higher League One Level as he’s linked up with Plymouth Argyle. Prior to completing the paperwork on his loan, Azaz also signed a new contract extension with us but as I type I’m not sure of the length of the extension.

It should be a good test for both as they look to develop further and I doubt I’ll be alone in watching on to see how they get on.
