With Aston Villa taking victory over Wigan Athletic as we took to Villa Park for the first time in the 2018/19 Championship season, plenty of Villa fans were delighted to see youngster Rushian Hepburn-Murphy take his place on the bench once more.

The debate about manager Steve Bruce and whether he will, or won’t, use youth remains open for debate and whilst there are those fans who say he does when they deserve it, there are just as many others who say he will when there’s no other choice.

Jonathan Kodjia is still working his way back to full sharpness and form following his lengthy spell on the sidelines and the likes of Scott Hogan and Keinan Davis are crocked at this minute in time, and RHM is taking full advantage of that as he’s featured in both our games so far as a substitute.

He may have only got 15 minutes this weekend, but the 19-year-old Academy graduate continued winning fans for his efforts as he put the yards in.

With Yeovil Town next up in the EFL Cup, I see all the sense in the world of part resting Jonathan Kodjia and giving RHM the start. Let him step up and run their defence riot, then second half Kodjia can hopefully increase his own confidence and capitalise on a tired backline to get himself up and running this year.

Could do the trick for the both of them.
