Turkish newspaper Takvim are reporting that Trabzonspor are interested in signing Birkir Bjarnason.
It is believed that the Icelandic international is available this summer as the club look to balance the books, and there is reportedly a number of teams in Italy also interested in the midfielder:
Fans on Twitter were pretty much against seeing Thor leave the club:

Another club linked with Birkir. I think he could be an important player for #AVFC next seasonhttps://t.co/bYeNoKJLGo

Verdict:
It’s a difficult one. Our no.20 did a good job when he was called upon by Steve Bruce last season, but he was never a first-team regular.
With finances as pressured as they are, we are not in a position where we can decide to turn down bids if they match our valuation of the player.
Whether Trabzonspor could come up with an offer which would satisfy us, I would have my doubts, but there may be some Serie A sides willing to make an appropriate bid which we would accept.
