Aston Villa Academy graduate Harry McKirdy has just completed a loan move out to Newport County for the remainder of the 2018/19 campaign.
The 21-year-old joined our youth set up as a scholar back in 2013 and he’s now a regular at Under 23 level and also began making a name for himself at the Hong Kong Soccer Sevens competition when we lifted the title back in 2016.

Although he’s yet to make his debut for Villa, he has spent time out on loan already with Stevenage in the first half of the 2016/17 campaign (seven starts with six substitute showings with a return of one goal) and in the second half of last season, he spent time at Crewe Alexandra (five starts and eleven substitute showings with a return of three goals).
Hopefully, this will be the spell where he clicks properly and really begins to impress at Rodney Parade as he knows what League Two is about now.
