A Message To Villa Fans From Brad Friedel

Message from Brad Friedel:

Out of respect for Aston Villa fans, Mr Lerner, Paul Faulkner and everyone else associated with Aston Villa, I did not want to say anything while events were unfolding over the summer.

But now that the new season is almost upon us and Villa have signed someone in Shay Given whom I believe is one of the best goalkeepers the Premier League has seen over the past 10 years or so, I want to say a big thank you to everyone at Villa as I enjoyed every minute of my three years at the club.

I fulfilled my contract and, as we all do in life sometimes, it was just time to move on.

But I wish everyone at the club the best of luck for the upcoming season and beyond, and especially I wish Shay the best of luck.
